Sportwall Outdoor Installation Withstands Category 3 Hurricane

November 4, 2005, Santa Barbara, CA - Sportwall's strict quality standards for its fitness systems were put to the test in October when an outdoor installation of its ABS 1200 tennis backboard in Florida sustained category 3 hurricane-force winds. The tennis backboard, installed at Mariner Sands golf and tennis community in southeast Florida, withstood hurricane Wilma with no damage, although similar structures in the area required repair.

"We prepared our site for the installation of the Sportwall ABS 1200 according to Sportwall's recommendations and the Sportwall survived the ravages of hurricane Wilma at our facility," Frank Pizzeri of Mariner Sands said. "I was glad we opted for the three-inch diameter schedule 40 poles set in concrete for the Sportwall ABS 1200 installation, as other tennis court fences here at our Har-Tru facility were bent by Wilma's ferocity."

Since its inception, Sportwall has prided itself on not only creating products that meet a unique need in the tennis and fitness markets, but also offer the highest level of performance and quality. Sportwall backboards are scientifically engineered for true, solid and quiet returns, and their installation requirements enable buyers to ensure their Sportwall is safe and secure as well.

The Sports-PC that Mariner Sands installed has dual-laminate sand-filled ABS Plastic panels for superior all-round performance. Each panel is three and a half inches thick and the system includes a four foot high catch net. The modular design can be adapted to fit smaller or larger spaces. And Sportwall commits to service the non-electronic components of its backboards under normal wear and tear for the life of the company.

Sportwall has installed more than 500 tennis backboards at resorts, tennis clubs, universities, tennis schools and private residencies. Current installations include: Marriott Desert Springs Resort in California, Agassi Boys and Girls Center in Las Vegas, ATP Headquarters in Florida, USPTA Headquarters in Houston, and San Diego Parks Tennis Program.
