GOG was successfully implemented and run by existing YMCA staff and
demonstrated potential for improving physical activity and dietary habits of adolescent
girls. Interactive technology also shows promise in improving activity.

XerGames: Combatting Youth Obesity and Inactivity
This wellness program is currently implemented in over 100 YMCA and after-school programs. It was written in cooperation with Dr. Kyle McInnis, Professor and Chair of the Department of Exercise and Health Sciences,
University of Massachusetts, Boston, MA. Dr. McInnis received extramural grant funding from various health foundations to develop and pilot test the XerGames Wellness concept described in this manual.

Pe4Life/Kansas City School District Student Fitness Report
We mainly use the Sportwall as a station when we are doing station work and class relays. Our students absolutely love the Sportwall. They ask to play on it and the whole class' s demeanor changes to one of total cooperation when they know we are going to work with the Sportwall.

Experiences With Sportwall

Over the past two years, we have been privileged to provide many children with enjoyable
exercise experiences using an older version of the Sportwall apparatus, appropriately named the
Electronic Playground. While this proved extremely effective for fitness purposes and great fun
for the boys and girls, the relatively small playing space limited the number of participants to
about six at any given time.
